So........ HOW ABOUT I was out in my yard tonight fixing something when I notice a kid come out of his house & walk across the street with a HUGE garbage bag of trash trying to stick it in SOMEONE elses bin!!! He saw us and knew we were looking right at him, so he decided to turn around and go stick it in his own bin that was already overflowing. His own bin already had 1 bag too much on top of it. Nothing was said to the kid, I think he figured out he'd been caught...... but uh.... WOW! I was told when I moved into Base Housing that if you have too many garbage bags on top of your bin(or the lid wont close) the trash people will TAKE IT OFF, PUT IT ON THE GROUND and continue about their day. If I had a garbage bag sitting outfront of my fence because of some act like this...OWWWWWWWWWWWW ...(guess the rest.)

Julie --- 15 years ago -

Was there room in the bin he was trying to put it in? In our section, we do that - if there's room in a bin we pop a bag in. Others do the same if there's room in ours. Not to make it overflow and the guys not take it, but if there's room, why not? Two weeks is a long time between pick ups...

??? --- 15 years ago -

Trash gets picked up every single Friday. Everyones bin was full, he knew he was doing wrong when he saw us thats why he turned around.

Jess --- 15 years ago -

wow where do you live where it gets picked-up once a week?!?!? Ours trash is picked up 2 times a month; once every other week!!

Jason --- 15 years ago -

We live in base housing as well, and our black bin gets picked up once every two weeks, and ours is always FULL, if someone was putting trash in my bin, even when its only half full, I would flip out, because i know by the end of those two weeks it should be full with my trash! I'm not responsible for others trash. If you have to much, run it down to the dump at 5 ways.

yeah we live off base, ours is full too at the end of 2 weeks, i would pitch a fit if someone was throwing their trash in ours as well.

??? --- 15 years ago -

Over react much?! Seriously? If you guys are too lazy to haul your bin back to the proper place then of course others will be throwing their trash in it.

Jason --- 15 years ago -

Don't over react at all. My bin stays where it belongs except on trash day, but if someone elses family has an overabundance of trash then they better darn well haul it off not try and place it in someone elses bin. Why should I have to do a dump run of my trash because someone else decided to use my can? (if it were to happen, no one has)

Wouldnt you like to know --- 15 years ago -

I will admit to putting trash in others cans. If we have no room and someone else does why can't I do it. We do it the night before trash gets picked up. You are not putting trash in your bin anymore if it is on the street ready to be picked up so why can't the some of us who have a little extra do it? I do not see the problem if your bin is out to be picked up anyways. I live in base housing in Lords Walk we have trash one Fri then recycle and back to trash. For some people it is to long to wait for 2 weeks for it to come again.

Emma --- 15 years ago -

Maybe people should ask before they do it?

Shannon --- 15 years ago -

We do it the night before trash gets picked up. You are not putting trash in your bin anymore if it is on the street ready to be picked up so why can't the some of us who have a little extra do it? We normally take the bin out the night before since it is supposed to be out there before 5 or something like that the night before. But we usually leave in the morning before the pick up, so normally wait to empty our last kitchen bag until we leave for the day (after our breakfast). So yes, some people still put trash in the bin after it is on the street.

Shannon --- 15 years ago -

I found that actually recycling and using the blue bin has cut down on our regular rubbish drastically! We can normally handle the every other week thing now.

Shannon --- 15 years ago -

double post. sorry

??? --- 15 years ago -

Im not over reacting. Today is Thursday, Trash day is Friday (tomorrow).I put my bin out there after it got DARK, as if we are preparing to turn in for the night. (I randomly just happened to be outside for a minute or two when I noticed the kid.) My trash comes every single Friday but its a Mini-skinny trash can, so pretty equivalent to 1 big trash can every 2 weeks.I put 100% effort into recycling every single thing I possibly can just so I can have barely enough room in the black bin. I plan accordlingly to have enough room in my bin and sometimes make trips to the dump. Why would I let someone who hasnt put as much thought or care into this put their trash in my bin after it gets dark. Better never EVER get caught, I will call up whoever I need to at the housing office.

??? --- 15 years ago -

I am on RAF Feltwell btw. I would have no problem if one of my neighbors needed a favor and needed to put it in my bin, or any favor at all.(BY ASKING) Unfortunetly... my bin will never be empty or low. LOL it just won't.

Jess --- 15 years ago -

Over react much?! Seriously? If you guys are too lazy to haul your bin back to the proper place then of course others will be throwing their trash in it. I agree with Jason, it isn't over reacting, I recycle like mad but still have a full bin of trash that I keep at my house until 5am trash day morning... if someone were to go to my house and put trash in it just because they can't fit it in theirs I would be pissed.. My neighbors are awesome and wouldn't do that thankfully, but who knows on the rest of the street. I live quite a ways from any sort of trash dump and there fore would be mad as hell if someone decided to overflow my bin with their trash when they should be the ones doing the run for themselves... just shows they are lazy!

Matt --- 15 years ago -

How much do you pay for trash pickup in housing?

??? --- 15 years ago -

Its Free..

AolGirl --- 15 years ago -

If it is free and it's not affecting you in any way why does it matter? Can't we all just get along? :) Really, it's just trash and it's not like they're dumping it in your yard. This is becoming a little crazy...

Jess --- 15 years ago -

well I hate to say it, but it is NOT free on the economy...so if I have to do a run because some lazy person over flows mine, it isn't right!!

A Rare, Sane person --- 15 years ago -

of course..but what good does it do when you write it on here?

Matt --- 15 years ago -

But you put it out the night before so all your trash is in the can.. Thsi is why I will not live in housing and I dont mean people putting trash in my trash can..

??? --- 15 years ago -

.....because it does affect me when I work hard each week to make sure my bin isnt over flowing and I make my own trips to the dump. IF YOUR BIN LID IS NOT CLOSED OR ITS OVERFLOWING THEY WILL NOT TAKE IT. There is no excuse for being lazy(or whatever the reason) and not tending to YOUR OWN garbage, don't dump it on someone who takes care of theirs.... the point of it being free or not is not important (even though you will continue to argue me).... I was issued my bin for MY trash.

lalaro --- 15 years ago -

homeboy should have asked first. but really, isn't there more important things to talk about.

Nicole --- 15 years ago -

Common sense is to ask first. Yes, it's free. But there is nothing more annoying than going out the next morning and having two or three bags of unknown trash in your front yard and even more annoying when you dont find it before the birds and have to HAND PICK up umteen amount of condoms/and who knows what else before your kids find them. There was a bag of trash FROZEN to the ground under the ice this winter. All because of people overstuffing and putting bags in others cans. It's honeslty ok-but only once you ask. The person might have a can full that they are planning on taking out just before leaving for work in the morning.

lizglowark --- 15 years ago -

People just leave trash outside their bins, and leave it there for weeks were I live. And the housing office has the nerve to question my garden... HA!

lalaro --- 15 years ago -

and have to HAND PICK up umteen amount of condoms/and who knows what else Oh God, I hope you aren't my neighbor...

Nicholas --- 15 years ago -

Were in Lakenheath village and have an agreement with next door to use each others bins the night before if there is room, otherwise it is to the tip, although a large number of houses are empty where i live and we have an agreement with the owner to use the bins in the empty houses as long as we put them out and back again until someone moves in. I have just recently moved here , while i was at RAF Benson we had rubbish collection twice a week and recycling on an almost daily basis !!
