Ok so I just want to warn people of how Horrendous and unprofessional
the employees at Community bank are on lakenheath. I was shopping in the BX with my girlfriend the other day when I overheard some of the girls who work there(the loud one I heard being called NO NAMES and a bunch who looked like they were still in high school) discussing a bunch of peoples financial information, mainly them being overdrawn. That one girl, (who seems to think she's above everyone she meets and sits in the back office giggling and talking every single time I go in there) was complaining about how people are so stupid because they can't control their finances and how she (and someone else called NO NAMES or NO NAMES) has to call every month to tell them to pay and how pathetic they are. Customers names were said, amounts, even what these people spend their money on. We were gobsmacked and outraged. Don't these people realize that 1. This is against the law, 2. These Airman can actually have their careers hurt if the wrong person heard, like a supervisor of commander. My friend and I are closing our accounts and moving to Keesler after this and I just wanted to warn those out there to watch out. I've been there and accidently forgot about my BT coming out (as it changes every month) and I would die if I knew my husband and I were being discussed and his boss overheard you can get referrals on EPR's and worse for finacial problems. I am going to be compaining to as high up as I can, as this is a total breech of ethics and confidence. What kind of people do they employ????????

Edited out names as it can really pinpoint people and edging on the side of caution INCASE the info is not true.

Nicole --- 14 years ago -

Wow. That's crazy!

BT is who we have problems with too. They have pulled a month early before and pulled after we already canceled, as well.

I know that the exchange rate is a heck of a lot better at an ATM than on base.

jetsgirl78 --- 14 years ago -

I know they are terrible. I stopped paying by debit from my account and now I just pay online with my debit card every month and it's been so much better. You don't need a chip and pin I use my USAA card. I'm going to close my account anyways and Keesler has that £ bill pay now anyways so if I need it I'll use them.

sally --- 14 years ago -

Its about time- I hate the people who work there. There's one girl who is so rude I can't believe she still works there.

I sat at the desk at the back and all I heard while opening my act was that girl talking crap to the pretty asian girl. They weren't even quiet about it.

Even the girl helping me couldn't believe it. And their boss just went in and joining in talking crap. I might do the same thing and switch to keesler

orangecounty1 --- 14 years ago -

I know what ya mean sally I went in there and even sitting in the waiting area I can hear her gasing off. I know someone who knows one of the girls on the teller side and she only got that job coz she hangs out with the boss. And I heard they hire on looks.they turned down a girl even though she worked at bank of america for 4 yes coz she was fat.

orangecounty1 --- 14 years ago -

Oh and I was told by one of them that u can only pay BT by direct debit and they were the only bank that can do it. What liers

True --- 14 years ago -

you can open a account at barclays in mildenhall and pay any uk companies by direct debit, they will not discuss your acc in front of other customers

you can also pay bt by debit or credit card with a automated system over the phone

True --- 14 years ago -

i also have to add that as always why does a member just join up to the underground and immediatley sound off about a person or company,is it that they dont want to use their reg username?

jetsgirl78 --- 14 years ago -

wow that sucks. Ive been on here loads but my regular username is my actual name and as u should know whe military is a small community

How about a 12 person operating room talking about your naked body while you are asleep?

Been there, done that. Got the t-shirt.

Oh Lord! Me too and I shudder at the thought...

Jenh --- 14 years ago -

Community bank folks are as dishonest as they come. We had canceled out Eon bill as we moved on base. Well, I always keep a lot of money in the pounds account because I am paranoid. One day they said that we were overdrawn, I was like "WHAT?", Oh well EON is still taking out. I brought the documentation up there to show them that we stopped that allotment...2500pounds we overpaid them all because community bank folks are idiots and didn't stop the allotment! My husband was pissed, I was pissed and EON was pissed that this happened. We were paying for the property that we didn't live in! We got all the money back but they are the most unorganized and lazy people I have ever run across.

Julie --- 14 years ago -

Not to mention inefficient. They can't get their act together within one location, nevermind interactng between the Mildenhall branch.

We had to go in there 3 times and were told 3 different things each time and I doubt things are right.

christi --- 14 years ago -

tell me about it! Comm bank is horrible and im so glad to be moving soon and not deal with them anymore!

Mrs. Amy --- 14 years ago -

I guess nonoe of you guys have ever worked in a hospital or clinic. You think a couple of broads talking about your lack of money is bad?

True!

I remember my c-section, my OB was gossiping about another patient to the nurse at the hospital. I remember hearing "we have to give her a hysterectomy" and I freaked out on the table because I thought she was talking about me.

StayingAnonymous --- 14 years ago -

Has anyone filed a complaint with their manager? If anything, maybe they'll be disciplined. As an ex bank employee I know it raises a basis for gossip, but they're supposed to be held to a higher standard. And unfortunately, the only people that are usually willing to work as tellers are immature, young adults.

O.o (Mod) --- 14 years ago -

I'm not sure which branch you guys are talking about but I haven't had a problem with the Mildenhall community bank. In fact I think the girls there are kind of cute in a nice way. Even the tall hispanic guy is so sweet. (I think he's hispanic).

BUT, I recently did go to the Lakenheath branch and was "helped" by a teller who was so rude to me every step of the way! I hate to admit being childish but I ended up "accidentally" dropping my receipt on her bench area among a few other pieces of paper she kept forcing on me. Not a single smile and gah, her attitude was to puke for. I didn't get her name, but I just figured she was having a bad day and trying to take it out on me. I guess I'm more forgiving like that.

orangecounty1 --- 14 years ago -

I made a complaint to their manager and he doesn't do anything. I refuse to go to the Lakenheath one, Mildenhall is so much better.

My experience a few weeks ago - my wife and I had a baby 11 months ago so she is trying to lose the baby weight, which she doesn't need to honestly.

But anyways she is using slimming world. I go up to make sure the direct debit coming out is from them at that window in the front, with my wife.

We walk away and she goes to deposit a check and I wait in the doorway between the teller side and CS. The girl in the little window area has the nerve to say "well maybe if she didn't eat out at Burger king 3 times a week she wouldn't need slimming world, !"

I was fuming, went around, yelled, made a complaint and put the nasty B#%ch straight, I go to BK actually.

Unfortunatly, after hearing me yelling she found out what had been said and was devastated.
We now drive the extra 10 min to Mildenhall.

OMG!!!! you guys must have been unlucky. I have been with Lakenheath Bank for two years and the service has always been great. They have helped me out so much recently with a problem i am having with BT. The ladies in customer service have been making calls for me and helping get my money back which is just what i needed with my husband being TDY and having two kids. I just cant find enough good words to say about them.

Jeni --- 14 years ago -

@orangecounty1-- that's awful! I'm ready to start swinging and I don't even know your wife.

she is trying to lose the baby weight, which she doesn't need to honestly.

You are awesome.

WitnessProtectionProgram --- 14 years ago -

But MC's side is always right.

There, fixed it for you.

StayingAnonymous --- 14 years ago -

Wow, that sucks. I use Mildenhall's. I still think Community Bank sucks, but I've had friendly service for the most part.

wifey (Mod) --- 14 years ago -
