I am getting together donations for St Martins Trust in Norwich, they help the homeless. I would like to take as much as possible up there just before Christmas.
I am gathering together tinned food, clothes, blankets, hygiene products, etc.
If you would like to help out in any way, it would be much appreciated not only by me but the people you'd be helping out. Feel free to ask any questions. You can message me also.
Hi, I was wondering if you know a place that would accept used toy donations. I would also be interested in donating some canned food and hygiene products for the homeless as well. Where would I drop it off? THank you.
They are needing the following donated: sleeping bags, waterproof coats, gloves, scarves, bags, rucksacks, blankets, belts, underwear, thermal underwear, socks, vests, t-shirts, Jumpers, Trousers, Jeans, shoes, toothbrushes, toothpaste, towels, flannels, soap, shampoo, deodorant/feminine hygiene products, tissues, wet wipes, vaseline, lip salve, sponges, hair brushes, head lice combs, razors, shower gel, tinned food, energy bars, tin openers & any food that is easy to prepare and can be stored.
It might be worth just double checking on the amount of clothing they are currently taking - have a word with Derek Player.
Although its not the end of the world as we have dropped the clothes into charity shops before - I just begrudge that a bit as I like to make sure our donations go DIRECTLY to the homeless.
PM me and we'll drop some bits round to you.
Well done, by the way - having lived rough on the streets of London myself at Christmas - this is a worthwhile cause VERY close to my heart..

I don't know about any of you, but hearing that list really drives home how easy it is to take the simple things in our life for granted...like a toothbrush?! Crazy.
Wifey, how are you doing pickups/drop offs? Do you have a place on base we can drop stuff off at and you pick it up or do we coordinate times with you directly?
We're just about done going through our household goods and settling everything in place so I'm sure that at the very least we should have a couple garbage bags full of clothes and some coats.
Also, I have a truck. If you need some help transporting the donations we can probably help out. :)

Hey!
Yes! I have been meaning to call them and double check what they do need but I know for the last three years that my Mum has been getting together donations, they have needed a lot of clothes.
Thank you! I felt very strongly about doing this this Christmas time and I am so excited to be able to take a lot of donations up there.

I completely agree! When I was picking things up from the BX and Tesco, I was thinking about how simple things like nail brushes, sponges, soap, shampoo etc is to us but it will mean the world to someone else.
I am picking up donations/accepting drop offs/meet ups so we could organise a time. I would love to have everything ready to go around the 20th-22nd Decemeber. I am going to check the times with St Martins Trust.
My Mum does have a big car, but I will for sure let you know if we will need a truck. Thank you for your offer. I am going to take a picture of all the donations for you all to see when everything is together :)
