Hey Ladies and Gents,

I just wanted to start a tread devoted to good eating. I've been having a hard time trying to find recipes that are not only healthy but actually taste good too.

I know many of us are military or are related to military members so being healthy and fit is important to us. But how do we do this without sacrificing that yumminess we know and love from our unhealthy choices?

If you know of any recipes, I would LOVE to hear them and if you don't, I hope this thread could help you find the recipes you've been looking for.

I'll start with one of the few recipes I've found that both my husband and I can actually eat and not feel like we sacrificed for the sake of being healthy. I hope you guys enjoy :)

Fruit and Yogurt Salad:

REALLY easy recipe. Chop up the fruits of your choice and mix Greek Yogurt! We use just enough greek yogurt to coat the fruit healthily (not too thin, not too thick). Try to stay away from really juicy fruits since they make the entire dish turn kinda watery. We usually use...

Bananas
Apple
Blueberries
Raspberries
Blackberries
Persimmons
and sometimes grapes!

I can eat this dish just about any time of day and it satisfies my sweet cravings. If the fruits aren't contributing enough sweetness for you, you can add a couple tablespoons of honey to jazz it up a little.

Thanks for your contributions!!! :D

I have TONS of them! I lost 100lbs and have kept it off for three years.

Well until the little guy was born 5 weeks ago! lol 30lbs to lose till I'm back to where I was. I have posted tons of them here: healthy recipes

They include:
Never-fail Scalloped Potatoes
Chiseled Chicken Parmesan
Open-Faced Meatball Sandwiches

And I have many more to add! There are just so many I don't know what to post here.

I am diabetic so I can't eat a lot of fruit or go out to eat a lot as I have to really watch the carbs I eat...

I find a lot of good recipies here: http://www.diabeticlifestyle.com/

They have a lot of "spin offs" of great dishes but modified so that they're lower in carbs.

Great thread! Congrats on losing 100lbs, MrsAmy!

Thanks for your input guys. :)

Are they still tasty would you say? Any in particular that you might recommend?

Are they still tasty would you say?

Some are better than others for sure! :)

The Asian soup with chicken and rice is pretty good. I sub for the things I can't get though - like the Thai pepper...
