Loving England --- 13 years ago -

I have a TomTom that we bought when we got here. It is not even three years old yet. Recently when I turn it on it just says trying to find a valid satellite signal. Has anyone ever had this problem?? Usually it will say that and then it works. Now it just says that all the time. I plugged it into the computer and got all the updates and such and it still won't work. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I don't use it as often I used to as now I know my way around pretty good, but I need it to work for when I do need it!! Thanks so much!!!

We went through 3 TomTom's since being here. Its only been 3.5 years. TomTom's suck. We switched to Garmin and have no problems. We updated ours and even called TomTom and they walked us through fixing it.....still did not work. Sorry I could not be much help, just thought I would let you know we had the same issues. Just switched to Garmin.

I had to borrow a friend's Garmin yesterday and I really liked it!! If I can't get the TomTom to work I plan on just buying a Garmin!! Just hoping I can fix this one first!! I really don't want to dump the money on one right now!!

Our Tomtom works well for us. Sometimes it takes a second to acquire a signal, but then again it is extremely cloudy here most days.

I found a website online that said you could reset your TomTom. I did it and now it is working great!! Thanks to all for your help! I really didn't want to have to buy another one! I never knew they could be reset!
