Hello all,
Has anyone here had any experience with RPV cars, or know someone that does? I am looking at a car there tomorrow and figured I would see what the word on them was. I'm coming from Alconbury, so I don't really have anyone to ask in person about them. Thanks!

I wouldnt waste your fuel going to rpv cars. my friend bought a bmw from rpv and relisised the car had head gasket problems a few days later. tryed to call them to sort something out. And there reply was tuff its your car now! And noticed the service book for the car had a diffrant reg in it! Its now a trading standards issue on going.

We bought our car from RPV and the guy there was a pretty nice guy. We chatted with him for awhile about the car. It has been a great little "runabout" and the price was good too.

Obviously I can't speak for everyone, but this was our experience....a good one. I guess it is as they say "Your mileage may vary". But this can be said about anyplace.

I haven't used them, but just wanted to say good luck. I know it can be tough trying to find a decent second hand car. I went on Auto Trader last time (December) to find a car and ended up buying a car from a private seller in Cambridge. It's been a great run around car with low mileage, 2 previous owners, full service history and (touch wood) no problems so far. I also got it a lot cheaper than I would have if I had bought it from a dealer.

I just had it M.O.T'd and it went through with only a few minor issues, so I'm pretty happy with myself!

I stopped by today and had a look at some of their stuff. Not too bad, about par for the course for what I've seen for used cars around military bases. As far as the Beamer with the head gasket issue, that's a chance you take buying a second hand car. If you buy it from a private seller you'll get the same thing. As for the service history being the wrong reg, I'll make sure I look closely at that before I exchange any money. Thanks for the experiences good and bad. I'm back over on Tuesday so we'll see what happens.

Buying from RPV was probably the fastest, easiest car buying experience we've had to date. (and we've owned a LOT of cars! About 12 so far)

The guy there was always polite, and willing to help. We bought our Mazda from him last December and it has been GREAT.

Yeah, be sure to examine all the paperwork closely first. Make sure it has Road Tax/MOT cause he does sell alot of trade-ins. That is what ours was. A guy traded our Mazda in on something else and the Mazda didn't have any Road Tax. We bought it, drove it home and noticed there was no Tax disc.

Our fault really....we probably should have paid more attention to that but the Tax disc was the last thing on our minds. We were just happy to have a bigger car. We traded in our Nissan Micra, and he gave us a good amount for it. He didn't try to "lowball" us on it's value.

Good luck OP!

Thanks SSDD. After doing a bit of looking on Autotrader, the car I'm looking at is right around what people are asking for that car with similar miles. It's got 10 months MOT and a few months tax left, so that's all in order. It seems to have avery complete service history as well. Like I said, I'm going back on Tuesday to test-drive and possibly buy it. Hopefully it turns out alright.
