I live in Lords Walk and AFN has been down since last August. I've been told that it's no longer available without the box and a satellite. I've recently had Freesat plus the dish installed and would like to have AFN again as well. So I'm wondering if I buy the AFN box if I could use the current dish from Freesat to view it?

Different satellite, so different Azimuthal and Elevation at your location. Simple terms, Freesat doesn't use/point at the same satellite as AFN. But mounting and aiming a new antenna (aka dish) really isn't that difficult. You can always ditch Freesat and use their dish for AFN by changing its alignment to the AFN satellite.

Okay thanks for the feedback.

No problem, if you get AFN I recommend just installing the dish your self. Plant a mounting pole in the ground and get the azimuth from the AFN Europe hotline, then all you need is a compass to aim.
