We have tried many places and are looking for somewhere with contemporary music, basic christian beliefs and an honest pastor. Can anyone help?

"honest" is a pretty broad description. What are you really hoping to find? I see that you want contempory music. What else is on your wish list? We have been church shopping as well, but none seem to feel right. Most of the contemporary services that we have attended have been so sparsely occupied that there was little or no joy in the singing of songs. I want to find a church that feels alive and exciting... yes: to you church bashers, what I am seeking does exist. We just have not located it yet in England. 

I like my church because I'm in and out in less than an hour usually. And absolved of all sins to boot. 

Sedge Fen is a good church.

Also good (but a bit of a distance)is Hillsong London. I haven't tried it yet but heard that they are a great church.

We had an awesome church back home. Had just found it when we got orders here. 

Everytime I see the name of this thread, for some reason I think of Dogma. 

To all commenters I can assure you from experience that Sedge Fen is the most crooked and corrupt church around here. I know from experience , I used to go there. Stay away, far away from Sedge Fen. That church is why I started this thread and am looking for a new church for my family. Sad, but true. 

Stay away from babtist church by Mildenhall, unless you like being told you cannot talk to your pastor! They were just really weird for me. 

What happened at Sedge Fen? I don't want names or anything. We have thought about going there. At least give a little more info on why they are crooked. 

To be short and to the point the pastor and some leadership misrepresented to the IBC their actual financial position in order to get extra aid. When this was found and was tried to be brought out and corrected the pastor Deacons and some other church leaders tried to hide it. The pstors wife even sent a nast e mail to the prson trying to tell truth saying their family was now " out of God's Protection" and that they " needed to seek the Pastor's forgiveness" . I know this sounds incrdible, but it is true. The pastor even sent out e mails with direct lies about what happened and the person telling what was going on. That person even responded with evidence to back up what they weer saying but the pastor, deacons and some church members chose to still attack this person. This is why I am saying stay far away from that so called " Church with a feeling of Home" it is a sham and is more like a mafia than a church.

Are you talking about the one in the viallage? Never been there. 

No, I think the name was New Testement Babtist, the pastor is retired AF. I don't know, I went because some friends from work went and I liked it at first but some folks just seemed a bit too pompus. Maybe we will find a good one in the states. 

I attend a church in littleport called the vine. I believe it to be honest, the pastor is very nice. It's a smaller church but everyone is friendly, I've been going there for almost 3yrs and I love it. It's hard to find a church to call home, and this is one that I can. 

I went to Abundant Life Church and the people are friendly and the pastor seems to be a down to earth kind of guy and retired air force. Plus, it's a mixture of brits and Americans.

I've also checked out New Testament Baptist church in Mildenhall, but the people seems to just going with the flow and the music is too monotoneous for me. The only upside is that the preaching and message is good and the pastor seems to be sincere.

Seriously though, I agree with the new poster in the advice of finding out for yourself. You're going to find corruption everywhere, just to different degrees. In fact, my house is corrupt. True you may not know me , but I have nothing to hide. Why would someone take the time to try and warn others about a bad place to go. Aren't we as humans supposed to look out for our fellow man? True I encourage everyone to make up their own decisons about a place or person, but first hand knowledge can and is often the best source of "TRUE" information about things. I agree you will find corruption everywhere in life, but the one place you should not expect to see actions like have been described are in a church. The pastor and others involved should be ashamed of how they treated the person who was doing the right thing and telling the truth. I am sorry if I have offended you as I obviously have since you felt the need to shout with caps in your entire message, but that is often the reaction when one is placed in a position of no escape, attack and deflect. I assume you have ties to Sedge Fen( especially since you just joined a few hours ago to comment in this thread) by your obligatory and blind defense of a mockery of a church and christianity. It is just sad that such a sham has been allowed to be purported on so many innocent people in its time there, my only intent is to help others avoid the Sedge Fen Mafia and its far reaching attack machine, look what has happened to people who stood up. They were attacked, and now have a pastor and his wife changing God's word to say they need to seek the pastors forgiveness and that they are out of God's Protection. No matter what flavor of christian you are, God's word is just that and any man or woman who thinks they are above that like they seem to is a shame, no to mention everything else they obviously pulled as I have heard about this from several sources. Besides from what I have seen in teh e mail traffic there is evidence to back things up, have you asked the person about the evidence or just attacked them blindly? It seems the younger and dumber you are the more Sedge Fen Baptists church wants you in their pews.I've had the above scam confirmed by several different people now.They seem to target the younger mill. folks who don't seem to question their practices , blind faith only works if your eyes are truly opened.

very interesting that you have all of this to add when it does not reflect anything i posted.... posting without the intention of "yelling" is the case here....i am really surprised (maybe i shouldn't be) at the assumptions several have made about my innocent error in typing...i'll do you all a favor and not return to this thread...lots of chips on shoulders and MANY ASSUMPTIONS with no clear reason...hopefully i won't end up the same place you do, i may trip on your toes and get blamed for intentionally stepping on them :( i guess everyone on the web is supposed to know all of the ettiquite before typing a single word...

Geez this Sedge Fen Baptist thing will not go away.. I stand by my post . I am not religious, I do not attend a church at all ever ..and still had this place on my radar because of its shady dealings.I have had people from all walks of life regular churchgoers and heathens like me both swear this place is bogus! 

We attend the 9:45 service at Mildenhall Chapel on base and like it.
