We are thinking about moving into a 4 bedroom house on Linden Walk, in Beck Row. It is considered base housing. Does anyone live in the military housing in this area? If so would you recommend it.? Is a DODDS bus stop in close walking distance? Any info is appreciated. Dawn
I had a friend turn it down because when she walked in it was covered in dead insects and was pretty dirty. She had a crawling baby too. Other than that I haven't heard anything. Sorry I dont have any BETTER news than that.
We bought a car from a USAF guy that lived in that area....it was an ok looking place. Still small though. Yeah Mitch...I think it's a strange concept too.
I know that most bases in the States have moved to this concept. But the housing is managed by a company. The military really has nothing to do with it.
And where is the "base housing" in Thetford? Would like to see it.
I knew a guy that lived in Base Housing in Thetford. It didn't look much different than LW housing actually....at least his didn't. One of my buddies lived in base housing in ELY! I always thought that was CRAZY far to drive. Too far.
@ DawnMom- I felt the same way when we saw the LW housing (as well as all the other housing some of our friends live in).....but moving into LV changed all that.
It's smaller than our old Barn Conversion out towards Bury St. Eds, but it is MUCH roomier than the other places we saw/lived in. Don't give up hope! You'll find a place you like.
There are no SNCO 4 bedrooms in LV. E7- E9 are screwed when it comes to 4 Bdr houses. We have 5 kids so they won't let us take a 3 Bdr. They want a family of 7 to cram themselves into LW. I was hoping the Linden walk houses in Beck Row were at least better than LORDS Walk.
That's a fluster. I know our neighbors have a 4 bedroom.....and that guy is at LEAST and E7. I wonder if any of the newer ones that they are still building/finishing are SNCO 4 Bedrooms?
Yeah, LW is scary to me. It's like driving to Compton. Worried I'll get carjacked. Lol.
We already live here. I am visually impaired and can't drive so we are try to get closer to the base since I have to walk everywhere.
Ah, okay. Then I can't help sorry. :) Though, I've heard the places near the Bird in Hand are supposed to be okay? I don't know what housing that is, but I remember someone mentioning it to me.
linden walk would put us very close to mildenhall and the youth center. Mildenhall town would be possible. We could use their amenities. I have to make sure a bus stop is very close since I can't drive the kids when it is very cold or rainy. Don't mean to be a DD. This is just reality. .
