Is it just me or are the prices for used stuff on lakenheath yard sales just a little high? This is crap that is no use for you anymore. I don't care what you paid for it or when! This is a YARD SALE website. Pretend you are in you front yard selling your crap! Clothes.. $.50-$2. If it's name brand charge a little more. Shoes $2-$5. Nobody wants to paid $30 for smelling used shoes! I don't care if you only wore them once. I don't know you. You could have the grossest feet ever! Video games.. Really $50? No. I know you paid $60 for it but it is used! I'll pay the extra $10 for the plastic wrapping  and the fact that it will work prefect in my console. I don't care if you bought something and it didn't fit so now you are selling it because you either lost the receipt  or know it cost to much to ship it back for a refund! This stuff is worth nothing to you. If you want it gone asap then sell it cheap! IT IS USED!

It's like people are trying to get rich off this website. Times are not that hard! We get paid good here (learn to manage your money right). And people that say they are selling stuff because it was given to them as a gift, does anybody buy their stuff? Don't put in the add that you got it for free and now you are trying to get money out of it.

Another thing that's annoying is the people spamming the website. Not just the businesses but the people that post a tshirt for $5.. shirt for $5.. A baby shirt for $4.. A oneies for $2.. Really.. Just post them in one posting! You get 5 pictures! If you are selling kids clothes put in one add!

Also, if you know the crap you are selling is crap.. Throw it away!

.. just sayin .. Does anybody agree?

Steph --- 14 years ago -

I agree. I always tend to mark all my stuff to "yardsale" prices. Example, I just got a new TV seires, and of course, only watched it once. Payed $35 for it, and sold it for $15. It was not brand new, so I knew I would not get that much for it. If I won't pay it, why would I ask someone else to? I am done with the item, already spent the money. So getting any of it back is a plus to me!

The clothing spread out from one ad to another bothers me as well. I mean, it is all good you got a Old Navy shirt, big woop! But with children's clothing, I am not going to buy it unless it is in a lot and is reasonable. I am not going to pay $5-$10 for a used clothing item, when I can go to the BX and get clothing on discount for the same price brand new. -----Just Sayin

i agree too, i posted stuff on here and sold all of it. I also posted a tv for free but no one wanted it i put 10 dollars on it and it sold!

Bella --- 14 years ago -

Yup, I cant get that people ask crazy price for complete crap. What i found funny once I was told of a local boot sale, I visited it and see a car with the yardsale decal on the back. I had a look at the stall and took notice of some pics they had for sale. Then looked at this women and then thought Mmmm those pics looked like mine that I sold on the yardsale for 5$ each, then my husband went yup I sold them to her LOL she had those up for 20 pounds

Matt --- 14 years ago -

Right now there is a £400 Itouch that sells for $400 new...
A 32 TV for $500(That brand never cost that much new). The BXs most expensive non LED is $500..
And so on.. There isnt to many "good deals" anymore and the ones that might be the description sucks so you dont know what it is or how old etc...

Julie --- 14 years ago -

Yup, drives me nuts. There's no way in heck I'd buy used clothing for a mere 10% off what they paid for it.
I have no idea what people think when they put stuff up.

I feel like I'm constantly giving stuff away. I sold 20 DVD's various titles for $5. I look and I see someone else selling DVD's for like $15 each. Um.. Yeah..

AFCartoonist --- 14 years ago -

I dunno... I'm selling a Playstation Move setup for almost exactly what it cost me new because it's only been played once. I'm not selling it because I need to get rid of it or need the money - I just don't want it. I'm willing to bet the day will come when AAFES doesn't have any and someone looking for one will buy mine, and can wait until then. But I see no reason to take a big hit price-wise because it's not in a shiny new box.

It's like people are trying to get rich off this website.

I think that's how a majority of people think.

Mitch01 --- 14 years ago -

Okay, correct me if I'm wrong:

You guys get your knickers in a twist because people are selling items for more than they should?

Wouldn't you want them to try this? If they mark say a widget at $20. You know and I know that widgets should only be $10. And most people will know that too.

So if you list a widget at $10 and someone else lists it at $20, the average person will buy the one that is cheaper.

You make money regardless.

AFCartoonist --- 14 years ago -

You can get widgets on eBay for $5, but they're from China.

ShizzleShizzleDizzleDizzle (Mod) --- 14 years ago -

I'm with AFCartoonist on this one...I agree that some of the sellers sell items for way too much, have crappy descriptions, crappy pics etc...

But, I see no reason to take a hit in the wallet simply because it is a yard sale site. Some items, like clothes should be yard sale prices. But two years ago I sold a backwards compatible 80GB PS3 with a bunch of games, Blurays, peripherals, as well as the original manuals, box and even the original receipt for the PS3. I'm thorough. I sold it for $500 cash. Did I NEED to sell it? No. But, for what it was it was a GREAT deal. PS3's made after that model aren't able to play PS2 games. So, along with the items I included the buyer got a great deal. I take care of my stuff.

Stuff like that, I can see where a somewhat higher than normal price would be acceptable. You shouldn't have to rip yourself off just because it is a yard sale site. However, just remember to be reasonable.

Wouldnt you like to know --- 14 years ago -

There are some things that should be sold at a yard sale price and some things that should not. Yes it is a yardsale site but that does not always mean everything has to be sold at a yard sale price. I look at the site as somewhere to sell things you do not need anymore not just yard sale material. If there is something on there posted and you don't like the price or could get it cheaper somewhere else then go there. I used to get emails all the time on items someone saw somewhere else cheaper I tell them go get it there then. No one says you have to buy the item off this site. If ebay is cheaper by all means go there and wait for it to ship to you or pay the extra and get it now.

Voice of Reason --- 14 years ago -

I agree RP, I like to price my items similarly to ebay this way I don't have to pay ebay fees and buyer doesn't have to wait or risk damage in transit. If they don't like my price they don't have to buy it!

Matt --- 14 years ago -

That $500 TV is on sale for $329 0r $289 at the BX right now.

Bella --- 14 years ago -

Plus when I have item on for sure I get loads of offers and I take their details and mail them back if it doesn't sell for the price it's up for

I don't sell alot but the price I post are cheap because I just want done with the items I sell

people wanting more money than what you can buy in the bx or online do make me laugh out loud but everything in life there will always be a mug out there to pay for it

@Susan....lmao that shelf isn't even $100 at WalMart I have 3 of them and paid no more than $40 for them there.

Some things are just laughable on there.

Queenmel --- 14 years ago -

I was looking for a wardrobe and all the prices were crazy! I was able to buy a new one at Ikea for Half of what people were asking on here.
