hello to all those people who are interested in hearing about Charlie, i would just like to say, that we have now had him just over a week, and it is like he has always been a part of our family, he fits in soooo well with all of us and our other animals, we have not had ONE MISTAKE there has been no "accidents" in the peeing department, i truely love this dog, he comes everywhere with us, and is very rarely "put to bed" in all my years of having dogs share our lives i have never thought of a springer as a family dog, i now take that back whole heartedly, we can not now imagine our lives without Charlie
he is doing the recall in a field, where i have my horses, he goes for nice long walks, does pull a bit but we now use a halty, so that is not a problem, very playful with all members of the family, doesn't mess with the cats if told otherwise, plays with the other dogs, does as he told, ALWAYS, is very very loving,
so i now come to my question, WHY DID NOBODY WANT THIS DOG? if anyone knows the answer to this please let me know

Laziness, it seems.

Glad to hear he's doing so well!

Mitch01 --- 14 years ago -

there has been no "accidents" in the peeing department,

I still have those once in awhile.

Masterchef, nail on head! People are lazy. I am so glad he is doing so well!!! I was skiddish about a springer because I read about the accidents and stuff, but I love my Mojo and he is a complete lovey dovey with everyone. He really loves my daughter and kisses her good morning everyday (to help me get her up for school!)

I'm so glad everything is going well. I love Springers!!

I am so glad to hear that everything is going well with Charlie. I don't think it is so much to do with lazyness (although I do think there is a lot of that, people want the dog but not the work). I know for myself when I see an animal constantly popping up for rehome I think there must be something serious going on. A lot of people don't know how to handle/train an dog esp. an older dog so they don't want to take on that reponsibility. I think it is wonderful that Charlie has found such a caring loving home and hope the continues to do great.

Hello everyone, its good to hear that Charlie is doing really well with Karen. I was actually the one who rehomed him. I understand everyones concerns about why hes been rehomed so many times and the ignorance of people including myself. well i have patience for dogs. i admit i didnt do research because i was so excited to have him i was willing to work with him BUT my husband was not and would not come to an agreement at all . i took him to the vet to at least get him his shots and turn to find out he didnt have ANY shots on file, which is quite pathetic considering the fact that hes been rehomed so many times so i made an appointment with intentions on keeping him but i had a decision to make and i made it. but charlie is an AMAZING dog but my husband was just fed up. so i hope he is there to stay. & if you have any comments to add feel free :) i can use the criticism. Thanks

And talk to your spouse about getting a dog. Sounds as if you knew how much work he would be but didn't share the info.

Bravo though on coming on here! Brave girl you are. At least Charlie ended up in the best place he could be. :-)

@MitchSquared well proof read it for me & i will repost it. i just had to make sure i put everything i had to say.

@Matt Sorry im not used to correcting my lower case "i"s, usually my computer does it for me. Technology makes people really lazy.

@MChammer I tried talking to him and let him know the ups & downs of getting an older dog rather than a puppy, but i guess it went thru one ear and out the other. so, that was a lesson learned. I came on here because i didnt want anybody to think it was just plain impatience & ignorance why i gave him up. i knew he was alot of work & he is an amazing dog, which i did tell his new owner because the last person who gave him to me did not tell me sh*t. But honestly i regret giving him up and i use it against my husband everytime. Im also glad that Charlie has the all around love that he desreves.

nelly, you would have been better off re-homing your husband! Poor Charlie, at least he is happy now and hopefully for good! I honestly think that men/husbands actually get jealous to think you will be spending more time and affection on something OTHER than them! :)
