Is that a guarantee that it will stay that way? Because at one time, the yard sales was the way you describe it and then once it blew up, they started to charge.
Everything on the ID card as far as numbers/barcodes are concerned is all personal data as well as some of it pertaining to car insurance, Tri-Care, etc...etc...pretty much everything. I've got a buddy that is an NCO in USAF Security Forces and he explained how much data is actually on an ID card.
I'm a spouse now but back when I served I had an ID card that looked just like the tan dependent ID card...except mine was green (for active duty). It had even more data embedded in the big bar code on the back.
I don't think people will honestly want to go that route for verification for a buying/selling website. How about simply emailing a randomly generated code and the recipient can reply with the code....then you can compare that to your database.
These days, with the Wikileaks thing going on (among other things) safeguarding seemingly unimportant information is CRUCIAL.
My sense is saying "Admin" is British as they used the word "Range" when describing their product line. Brits always say "Range" or "Top of the range" when describing high end items. We Americans (although I have no issues being called a "Yank" since I'm a Northerner) describe high end items as "Top of the line" or "High end" (among others, like "Premium").
David, how would a spouse go about getting a .mil address? I think that might be a potential snag.
Mitch01, Lol! Love it! I lived in South Cackalacky for while then we got stationed in Georgia...so you could consider me a "Damn Yankee" Lol.
Yankees visit the south, but "Damn Yankees" live there!
Thought it was funny though....cause all the people I encountered in SC all asked me what Philadelphia was like. I always had to explain to them that I was from the country, my home was even MORE country than where they lived! I've never been to Philly (been to the Burgh though) and I grew up in the boonies. The nearest town was 7 miles....but my school was 31 miles away!
In the summer my neighbors would bail hay and I'd help by picking up big rocks from the field in an effort to keep them from messing up the bailer. Occasionally we'd see an Amish buggy go down the road and quite often you'd see a convoy of four wheelers ripping down the road (I'd ride my Banshee alot down the road). About every year you'd see a PA State Trooper drive down the road...it was peaceful. I miss the Summers there. The winters made England look like the big thaw! BRRRR! Always had snow up to my knees! Anyhow, OP sorry to get off topic....I'm good at that. ;-)
an example of this is that we are able to block the persons computer (IP Address, not perfect but definitely annoying)
If you are set up to use dynamic IP addresses you can just release your current one and get a new one. ANd some people, not that I know anything about this, use proxies to skirt that issue.
'Paddle Faster I hear Banjos' would this be a better solution to just verify from email address, certainly sounds easier for me and its not really obtrusive information.id like your views if your still here.
Sounds good to me.....I don't really have an in depth "view" on this as David already figured it out. If this works for you then I'd say it would be good as it has nothing to do with personal info, just an email address.
I'm wondering if there might be other ways to do a verification though. My mind is at a blank right now.

You guys lived that far out in the country and weren't farmers yourselves? My husband is a farmer's kid... I love that about him being from the city and all.
